Peep!

Peep

One of the two beautiful eyes of my girlfriend. ;-)

Muah!

Muah!

A nice little kiss from my girlfriend. This is also one from the evening our parents came to visit us and is basically the same setting as the portrait of Martine.

Martine

Martine

This is Martine, my dad’s wife and although she refuses to believe me, she’s very photogenic. ;-) I took the picture about a week ago, when she, dad and my girlfriend’s parents came to visit us. Lots of very nice spontaneous pictures came out of her. I like this particular one for her dreamy look. The background is a beach cabin which serves as a garden house in our garden. :-)

Strobist info: Martine is standing under a little roof. Sunlight is coming from the camera right. Speedlight 580EX II through a white umbrella from the camera left. I forgot the power I put the speedlight on (I usually do). Does anyone know if it is possible to retrieve detailed flash info from the EXIF?

Muriel

Muriel

My girlfriend. She’s such a nice and beautiful woman! I love her so much. Since last wednesday, we’re living together in Antwerp. Congratulations honey, I’m having the time of my life!

Update: I made a black and white version as well. Let me know which one you like most!

Vincenzo

Another colleague of mine, taken Thursday night at the Mijn Restaurant event. Vincenzo is an Italian guy who is with us for three months (if I remember well). When you take a photograph he always does something funny. The guy is a natural in front of a lens. :-)

Tom (ii)

Another one of Tom, in black and white.

Tom - profile

This is my colleague Tom. Although he doesn’t like standing in front of a lens, he’s very good at it. :-) Take a picture of him and you’ll always have a nice and natural portrait.

This picture is taken with the flash on the camera. The camera is in vertical position so the flash is on the left side. If you let your subject turn his/her head, you end up with a nice profile. If you flip the camera vertically to the other side (flash on the right, shutter button somewhere down and akward to reach) you’ll get a nicely evenly lit portrait. I must say I like my Sto-fen diffuser dome a lot. It does a great job softening the flash light.
