Train
June 12th, 2008 | black & white |I went out tonight for some pictures of moving trains. There is nice bridge over a canal just outside the city. The sky was not that interesting though, so I converted this photo to black & white and gave it a hefty vignet. Capturing the motion of the trains is fairly easy, yet, finding a good compo isn’t easy. Especially with buildings in the neighborhood.
So what did we learn today?

- Mirror lockup and burst mode don’t go together. That’s a pity.
- Take a book or something else to keep you busy while waiting between two trains.
- Find out the trainschedule beforehand. I missed the high speed international train… TWICE!
- People are actually interested in what you might be photographing. Many passers-by turned their head to try to found out what my lens was pointing to.
